Dr.-Ing. Bussert was born on 20th December, 1972 in Berlin, Germany. After his Civil Engineering studies, he accomplished additionally the Master of Engineering with main focus on Geotechnical Engineering at the AIT, Bangkok and at NTU, Singapore. From 2001 until 2006, Dr.-Ing. Bussert worked as research assistant at the Institute for Geotechnics and Mine Surveying, Geotechnical Department at the Technical University of Clausthal. At the end of 2005, he wrote his doctorate thesis as to "deformation behavior of geogrid reinforced soil structures - cause variables for the determination of serviceability". Subsequently, Dr.-Ing. Bussert worked several years with Tensar International at Blackburn, United Kingdom, as Development Engineer, Business Manager Northern Europe and Head of the Design Office before he managed the Foundation Engineering, Statics and Projects Department with TÜV Rheinland LGA Bautechnik from 2012 onwards.
